Baby shower themes and decor ideas for boys aside from safari, cars, and baby blue staples are hard to come by (or at least I think so). For the most part, Pinterest is my go-to source for party planning ideas, all things decor, recipes, and more. But this time around, I was disappointed. Most of the ideas that came up felt too traditional. Using the word “most” is a bit misleading since the search results showed about 10 ideas compared to the many results you’ll get when searching for shower ideas for a girl.

From the get-go, decor-wise I knew I wanted to stay away from anything animal or safari-themed, but especially, a baby blue shower theme. To narrow down the search, I started to think of colors that could be gender neutral and would go well together for a baby boy shower theme. The result? A greenery theme with shades of green, blue, sand white and more.

A friend of mine used Babylist for her shower and I loved how easy it was to order straight from the list. I decided to do the same because it allows my guests to see the stores they can order from and prices differences across stores (if any). For expensive items, it allows you to mark them as “Group Gift” and guests can contribute to the fund.

Initially, my plan was to DIY and decorate with the help of my family and friends. But, I changed my mind last minute and ended up using an event planner and renting the decor.
