2020 Vision
Jumping into 2020 with Intention
I’ve never been a fan of resolutions. Yet, in 2019 I decided to think about what I wanted to see happen. I was so highly committed to my resolutions that I didn’t even write them down. The good news is that even if you are not as organized with your resolutions (I’m not) as a lot of people are, you can still make things happen.
Without much of a plan, I moved to a new city and found a job that I enjoy. Those two things had been on my list for a couple of years, so I think everything turned out pretty great. Although I probably won’t create a plan for 2020, I’ve decided to pick my word of the year. In 2020, I hope to move forward with intention. I will intentionally seek out the things that make me happy and bring me joy.
Now, let’s keep it real. Starting the year off with new resolutions is great, the hard part is actually sticking to them. We are all different, but I do believe creating a new habit is all about being consistent and taking small steps towards the end goal. Here’s what has worked for me:
TIPS ON HOW TO STICK TO YOUR GOALS
Start small
It’s easier to commit when you break down your goal into steps. This will help you to stay focused and seeing yourself achieve the “smaller” goals will keep you motivated.
Keep yourself accountable
Push yourself to do the hard stuff, the stuff you’ve been putting off. If you find yourself not doing enough to make things happen, remind yourself why you wanted to do it in the first place.
Don’t sweat it
If you think you take two steps forward and one back, don’t sweat it and just try again tomorrow. Once you see how far you’ve come, you won’t stop until you attain all you had on your list.
Let me know what you want to make happen in 2020.
Love, Barbs.
